I made this a new post because, the other Belize 2012 post was getting a bit long. With my new love of taking videos, I thought I'd make a video of the trip, so here it is! Just as an fyi, this is my first actual video I've made, so if you have any pointers about travel filming, let me know! -That also goes for photography!

Spring Break - BELIZE!

Going to Belize over spring break was such a blast. This was my second mission trip down there, and I think it might have even better than last time! It was only 7 days, and we were busy pretty much every second of every day haha. As a result, it went by soo quick! I really hope I can go down their sometime in the future and have more time for photography. Here are just some of the the photos I took... I filled up three 16gb memory cards!

Catching up on posting!

   I feel like this blog has kind of died, even though people do occasionally come on, I haven't updated in months. However, I am set on reviving it so going back to last post's challenge I'm going to start posting a lot more. (But actually follow through this time!) I've been super busy recently, and I'll be busy for this last month of school, then SUMMER! Then, I'll actually have time to get on the computer. So stoked! --I'm such a nerd.
   Anyway, so this is going to be a post of a couple random pictures from the last few months. (And I'll make a separate blog post about Belize.)

Over the past month, I've realized I've slacked a lot and have only posted once every couple of months now. So my new resolution for 2012 is, from now on I am going to try and make a post at least 2x a month.

A couple of months ago I got a Tumblr - follow me! Ever since, I've been so inspired, but haven't really taken much photos until recently. So hopefully I'm going to finally get my first dslr within the next month or two. Then, I'll be taking a lot. (Also if you look at the side bar, I have to Belize again in 2 months, so will take a lot then.) I've also been really interested in time lapse & astrophotography.

So, this past Friday I had a journalism (the class) press conference, and was able to test out astrophotography with my school's camera Thursday night. It didn't actually come out how I thought it would... but I was my first attempt, so hopefully I'll be able to experiment more when I get my camera... and maybe go somewhere other than just my backyard in the city.


Also, a couple of weeks ago, I went up to Breckenridge and took some time lapse shots. I've been really busy & didn't like the first edit I made, so am going to make a tilt shift version sometime this week. So I'll probably be putting that up soon (:

Sorry for the lack of updating, I've been really busy with school and everything, and haven't taken any blog pictures in forever!
However, I want to post something, because it's been a while. So here are some pictures from my summer trip to Lake Tahoe.

I've also recently been looking into film photography. I have a Pentax MV1 that I found stored away in boxes a few years ago. It's an 80's SLR, but I'm not positive if it works =\ If it doesn't, I hope to get one for Christmas.
Growing up in the digital age, I'm new to film, so if anyone has tips, feel free to comment them!

Belize was soo much fun! I can't wait to go back next year (: I went with a group and we stayed a week down there on a mission trip. We helped paint a school as well as the new pastor's manse. Punta Gorda was the closest large town, this is my sister, Madeline and TJ on a pier in Punta Gorda. Everyday during lunch we got to spend time with the kids of Forest Home Methodist School, this girl was so adorbale! Some of the guys showing off their tricks and flips (: Me, and seriously the cutest kid ever, he loved wearing everyone's sunglasses. Market day in Punta Gorda, they had amazingly fresh and cheap fruit! In Punta Gorda we ate at a place resturant called Marions, this balcony on the ocean was so much fun! On one of our final days, we hiked up Blue Creek to a cave, it was so beautiful! Sadly my memory card ran out right before the cave, but this is a picture of one of the many waterfalls right before the cave. The drive to and from Blue Creek was so scenic, it was definently one of my favorite parts of Belize. Another scenic picture of a biker on the way to Blue Creek. The final two days we spent off the mainland at Placencia, I loved everything about it. We actually made it right on time to go to the last day of Lobsterfest, soo much fun. All of us white guys were literally pulled up onstage to dance the "Tornado" none the less, we sucked, but it was a lot of fun. This was the day after, once everything had calmed down. Comming from Colorado, I loved just staring at the waves.

New Camera!

I bought the Fujifilm S5100 (also known as the S5500) on eBay on Sunday, and I literally cannot wait untill it comes!!
It will be my first ever camera that is actually mine!
(Yes, I've been using the 'family' camera for everthing I've taken haha)


So be expecting loads of practice photos soon (:
Also untill my next post, I have a few photos that I have taken recently. Some aren't the best quality when big, so I'm going to make them smaller than usual (:



p.s. I'm going down to Belize later this month (finally!) Which is one of the reasons I got the camera.. so if I don't get around to posting until then, expect Belize photos in a month or so (:

Last post of 2010

This is a pretty lame last post of the year, but I felt like posting.
So for the trip I got my camera all ready charged it up and cleaned everything. ...and for got it. There wasn't that much to take pictures of besides cows and birds though so it wasn't that big of a loss to forget it. =\
So I only had my phone to take pictures with... so their not very good at all. But I'll post 'em anyway.

New Layout, starting to post again!

So, I've been thinking about posting a post for like the past two months now, but haven't. =\
A few days ago I decided to make a store, just to see if anyone would buy prints of mine, here it is Kristina's Prints. I don't expect much, but it's up there if anyone ever wants to buy something. (:
Making that I decided I'd make a banner, and then I realized it could also be my blog header... considering I still had the '100 days' banner up.
So, I made a new header and I'll be off to Nebraska for the week, hopefully I'll find some photos to take. And I'll actually start updating this thing. (:

I've also decided that I won't just make this a photo blog, I will incorporate inspiration, life, and whatever I find interesting haha.

For now, I've been making a few youtube 'fan' videos recently on my free time. I'll post some more later on, but I made this one today so I'll post it.

Finally done!

Side note from yesterday's photo: Fixed the shutter today! (: I was so happy it wasn't permanent. Too bad I fixed it a day late.

For today's photo: Love how this turned out, during I didn't think it would turn out as good because it wasn't exactly how I imagined. The only thing I dislike is how it kind of looks like i'm staring at the ground, it was either that or it looking like my eyes were closed. Also I can't play the guitar, so I didn't really think of how dumb my hands would look posed like that, and I hope I didn't just point that out. Just thought I'd say it.
Oh, also I don't know if it's too small to see, but those are music notes on the tree.

Project reflection:
-I'm both happy and kind of sad about the fact that i'm done.

-This project definently helped me grow a lot. Before this project I took a picture like once a month. At the beggining of this project I didn't even own a macro lens or had ever even used a lens in general. About a few weeks in I finally did get a lens. After I got the macro lens I saw the world through and entirely different view. Slowly every little flower/other misc objects I passed, I saw as a beautiful item I could turn into a photo. I've also learned a lot more about fashion photography. I really love it now, and didn't really ever see me taking fashion-like photography. Now I can see myself into it. I have learned a lot about editing. Like the levitation trick, I love it. Even just three days ago I learned an awsome trick. Still have a lot to learn, but I really didn't know that much about both taking and mainly editing the pictures before this project, besides the basics.

-Like I had hoped to coming into this, I have accomplished a lot. I even got one of my photo's featured in a project on the other side of the world from me.

-I would also like to thank my sister and mother because without them I wouldn't have been able to do this project. And I would like to thank anyone who visited, I definently didn't think i'd get 600+ visitors and 3,800+ page views. Or double digits from other countries, haha. I think that's pretty cool. So thank you (:


Also I've decided to make this into a regular blog. So in a few weeks i'll probably start posting pictures again.

Very disappointed in today's photo. My shutter wasn't working properly so no matter how I took the picture it turned out extremely dark.
It's supposed to be a 360 night skyline. It doesn't look like it though D; I'll re take one next have the opportunity and its either lighter or the shutter is fixed. haha and have it actually be a 360.
